Install the App on any Android Smartphone

Android application package file (APK) is the file format to distribute and install application software onto Google's Android operating system.

Before attempting a manual installation of apps using the .apk files, you must first allow your smartphone to install from Unknown Sources

To do this, navigate to Menu -> Settings -> Applications and check the box marked Unknown Sources.

From Designer, choose Download to this Computer from the Package ... drop down menu and the download will start automatically. It may take some time.

Once you download the apk file to your computer, you can share it

  1. by sending it as an attachment to an email. Open the email on the smartphone and click on the attachment
  2. copy and install using USB cable
    1. connect your phone using the USB cable and turn on USB storage.
    2. copy the apk to your smartphone using the windows explorer.
    3. use the Astro File Manager app (download from App Store) or similar to locate and install the apk
